We need 500 Signatures, but let us gather 1500 so we have enough to fight this immediately through the legislative process should the city Alderman vote in favor of it.
I grew up in the Ozarks, it is almost a fairyland to us. This is not how we need to remember our lands, this is the lands where memories are made by the youth, grandparents take their grandchildren to springs and caves like this and explore. This is nature’s beauty, please do not turn it into yet another housing track that destroyed the landscape, ran off the natural wildlife that lives there, and fouls the water. There is more than enough land to create housing that will not do that kind of damage.
I believe there are plenty of other places to build. The owners just want money. Everyone is so selfish for money hungry for it. So sad. How people will destroy our beautiful land too faten their pockets. Breaks my heart.
It breaks our heart too Karen. Tell everyone you can in the city of Ozark limits what the elected city leaders are doing. Ask them to sign our petition. Call and complain to the mayors office and encourage everyone to do the same. The more people who know the more chance we have at saving these vital resources.
Could you petition the city to make the area a city park?
We could try, but that would require city ownership. I dont think the city leaders wants or cares to own it.
